What is Bringin Connect?

Bringin Connect is an invisible bridge that allows you to link your bank account to a Bitcoin on-chain or Lightning address, and move money between the two.
Send EUR from your banking app and receive Bitcoin in your on-chain self-custodial wallet.
Send BTC from your wallet to receive EUR in your bank account.
Without opening any additional app.

How can I create a Buy Connection?

Log in to the Bringin dashboard at app.bringin.xyz, navigate to the Connect menu, and click on “New Connection”. Select the Buy Connection and follow the steps. You will have to provide a Bitcoin on-chain address. Once confirmed, you will be shown a vIBAN in your name you can transfer money to.

How can I create a Sell Connection?

Log in to the Bringin dashboard at app.bringin.xyz, navigate to the Connect menu, and click on “New Connection”. Select the Sell Connection. Choose if you want to transfer your BTC via on-chain transactions or Lightning. If you choose on-chain BTC, you will be shown a BTC address. If you choose Lightning, you will be able to create a Bringin Lightning address. You’ll then need to provide the details of a bank account in your name, where you will receive euros.

What fees do you charge?

We charge our standard 1% fee for each swap. Additionally, you may incur in a small spread, max. 0.5%. For Buy connections, we also currently charge a flat €1 fee for bank withdrawals. The withdrawal fee will be removed soon.

Is there a minimum amount I need to send through Connect?

Yes. The minimum amount that needs to be transferred through Connect for both Buy and Sell Connections is €30.

Privacy and data

Is there any difference between a standard swap and a transaction through Connect?

No. Moving funds via Connect is processed as a Bitcoin sale/purchase. As with all other sale/purchase transactions on the Bringin app, this is reported against your KYC (Know Your Customer) data and Tax Identification Number (TIN).

Is my data stored, logged, or passed on to third parties?

We do not share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. Sharing only occurs based on compliance obligations for legal authorities. We utilize Lightspark (formerly Striga) for custody and compliance; you can find full details regarding this association in our Terms and Conditions.

Banking and Transfers

How does a transaction appear to my bank?

When a transaction arrives, it appears as coming from your own Virtual IBAN (vIBAN). Banks typically categorize this like any other neobank or e-wallet service.

Does it appear as a standard SEPA fiat transfer?

Yes. We send payments from an IBAN issued in your own name. Because the bank sees the funds coming from another IBAN belonging to you, it is usually assumed to be a transfer from one of your other neobank accounts.

Is there anything that flags the transaction as Bitcoin-related?

The vIBANs are issued by OpenPayd, an EMI license holder in Malta. Since OpenPayd does not have its own crypto offerings, banks are very unlikely to automatically associate these specific IBANs with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

Is the counterparty categorized as a crypto service?

By the transaction alone, the transfer is simply seen as coming from your own vIBAN. If your bank specifically inquires about the source of the transaction, you can then disclose Bringin and the services provided.
